WIP Wednesday – March 27, 2013

While I’ve finished several quilts recently, I do feel like no matter how much progress I make, the WIP list never gets below 10!!  Here’s a sampling of what I’ve been actively working on recently.

I’m nearly done (re)quilting my spring green/yellow/grey baby quilt…

Retro Flowers

…I started quilting the Sherbet Pips apple core project…

…I pieced 11 more of my Flower Sugar Hand Sewn Diamond Stars while I had jury duty…

…I made a postage stamp top with leftovers from this quilt

…and this block is supposed to be the center of the Marcelle Medallion quilt, which can be found in the Liberty Love book by Alexia Abegg, but I am not the biggest fan of medallion quilts.  I decided instead to make a quilt using only this block but, while I absolutely loved the first block I made, I haven’t loved the rest quite as much.

Should I continue to 16 (my original plan) or stop at 9?

Finally, I have been learning to crochet and I worked on a ripple afghan when I went to Washington this past weekend.

Hopefully I will finish one of these soon!

  1. First suggestion… I think you need to get rid of the years on your WIP lists… it must be demotivating… stick them all in 2013 and when one gets done you’ll notice it more 🙂 And as for the Marcelle centers, I feel the same way about that block versus the whole quilt and so I think you should go the whole 16… and I may follow suit when I get my massive to do list down to size LOL!

    • Funny thing, I actually ADDED the years at the start of 2013 and find it MORE motivating. Even though I have things listed in order before, it seemed like this massively long and demoralizing list. Now that I’ve done this I can see that I’m actually quite on top of “current” projects, and I’m just going to set a goal of getting to the older (and less “sexy”) projects when I can. Thanks for the encouragement on the Marcelle blocks, I think 16 with sashing will make a really good sized quilt FOR ME!
